Empowering children worldwide to learn languages and exchange cultures through peer-to-peer connections, founded by 10-year-old entrepreneur Hillary Yip.
The Challenge
Traditional language learning methods often fail to engage children effectively, relying on rote memorization and formal tutoring that can feel like a chore. Hillary Yip, the 10-year-old founder, experienced this firsthand when struggling to learn Chinese through conventional methods.
However, during a summer camp in Taiwan where she was immersed in the language, Hillary discovered that learning through natural conversation with peers was not only more effective but also enjoyable. She realized that children learn languages "almost overnight" when they're having fun and communicating with other kids their age.
The challenge was to create a digital platform that could replicate this immersive, peer-to-peer learning experience while ensuring a safe online environment that parents could trust. The platform needed to connect children from around the world, facilitate natural language exchange, and go beyond just language learning to foster cultural understanding and global friendships.
Our Solution
